Motor Carrier Compliance Calendar

For your reference, here is a list of common recurring compliance requirements for most motor carriers:

• Biennially: File an MCS-150 update on or before the deadline, which is based on the last two digits of your USDOT number (see chart). Be sure to update your total mileage operated for the previous calendar year.

• Annually: File the UCR between October 1 and December 31.

• Annually: Renew IRP plates annually.

• Annually: File IRS 2290 by August 31

• Annually: File IFTA Renewal between October 1 and November 30. (decals are mailed mid-December.)

• Annually: Obtain an MVR report on each driver

• Annually: Run an FMCSA clearinghouse report on each driver

• Annually: Inspect each vehicle and add the inspection report to the vehicle maintenance file

• Quarterly: File IFTA returns

• Quarterly: File KYU returns (if you travel through Kentucky)

• Quarterly: File Connecticut HUF returns (if you travel through Connecticut)
